Barack and Michelle: Portrait of an American Marriage

This book, which hit shelves yesterday, is an intimate look at the marriage of Barack and Michelle Obama. The book reveals the rough spots, like most couples, they have had.

According to USA Today, Christopher Andersen interviewed more than 200 people for an intimate look at the pair in Barack and Michelle: Portrait of an American Marriage (William Morrow, $25.99).

Here is what you can expect from the book:

"On more than one occasion, Barack tried not to look startled when some random woman in the crowd would grasp him firmly by the derriere -- and sometimes try to hold on."

The, then, future president slid into the back of his SUV, and allegedly said, "Jesus, I wish they'd stop grabbing my ass."

"Michelle, understandably was not amused," Andersen writes. He quotes her as saying, ". . . I want to tell these women, 'Back off. Get a life.' It's just embarrassing, that's all."

As for women flirting with her 48-year-old husband, the first lady is pragmatic. "He's loving it," Andersen quotes her as saying at one point. "He's a man, isn't he?"
The couple will celebrate their 17th anniversary Oct. 3.
